The 2025 vintage in Gisborne was widely hailed as very promising: growers noted “exceptional” flowering and generous crop-set across varieties, suggesting a good average regional yield.
This Albariño is grown on the Reynolds Vineyard, situated on the Gisborne flats at Makaraka, a site known for its sandy–silt topsoils layered over river stones. Its proximity to the Waipaoa River and Gisborne's coastal influence creates a warm, sun-filled growing environment with cooling afternoon breezes that help retain acidity and aromatic intensity.

Tasting Notes
Colour: This vineyard always has a bit of colour: Pale gold in the glass at bottling, but will slowly deepen with time.
Bouquet: A vibrant and expressive Albariño offering layers of lime zest, white peach, grapefruit and orange blossom.
Palate: Bright acidity and coastal salinity bring drive and freshness, while fine lees ageing adds gentle texture and length.
Cellaring
Already approachable, but will cellar happily into the medium term in a cool environment.
Food Matching
A clean, chalky finish makes it an ideal match for seafood, sashimi, fresh salads and summer dining.
